Hemera Foundation has supported the Thirty Million Words® Initiative since 2011. Through its Awakening Child Program, Hemera works to promote innovative strategies focused on enhancing the developmental capacity of children between the ages of 0 and 3 and supporting children’s abilities to realize their fullest potentials.
We’re looking for families interested in participating in the video component of the Thirty Million Words® Initiative. Real parents demonstrating easy-to-follow strategies for improving the early language environment of their children on video are a key part of our instructional curriculum. Be a part of something great and build your child’s brain at the same time!
Ideal candidates have tons of personality and are comfortable having both parent and child on camera. You must also live within 25 miles of downtown Chicago and have weekday availability.
In the event you are chosen, the time commitment includes a few preliminary phone calls and a short home visit prior to filming to discuss the type of interaction we’d like to shoot. The filming will be done at your home and will last approximately 4 to 6 hours, with lots of downtime built in for the kids We use a 3-person crew: a producer, cameraman and sound person. It’s very low-key; we all love being around kids and feel passionate about the work we do. Families selected to participate will receive $75 upon completion of filming.
